Mr. Schmidt (Jack Nicholson, played by Jack Nicholson), 66 years old, retired and stayed at home. He was bored by his idle life. He still gets up at 7 o'clock every day, but he is only accompanied by boring crossword puzzles and boring wife. Schmidt needs to find something to change his life, so he plans to support an orphan in Tanzania, Ndugu, and wrote his first letter. His wife's sudden death made his life more desolate.
